Winner of the Fashion category in 2007’s Miss Earth competition, Truong Tri Truc Diem, will leave Vietnam on October 20 for the 2011 Miss International Pageant in China.
Born in 1987 and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, Diem is a popular Vietnamese singer and model, and the first runner-up of Miss Vietnamese Women Photogenic back in 2005.
She is 1.72m tall and has the enviable measurements of 83-60-90.
Debuting in California in the 1960s, international beauty pageants aren’t just about looks. Contestants have to win over judges by taking on challenges that test their gentleness, compassion, beauty, intelligence, ability to take action, and most importantly, their global sensibility.
The ultimate goal of the Miss International beauty pageant is to promote world peace, goodwill, and understanding.
As many as 70 contestants will compete at this year’s event with its theme focusing on the victims of Japan’s recent earthquake and tsunami.
The final stage of the Miss International will be held on November 6 which coincides with the final night of the 2011 Miss World in London.
Vietnamese beauty queen Pham Thuy Vy Victoria is competing at the London pageant.
